May your Christmas be merry and green…

Merry Christmas from my family to yours!0be100a3fa654d2fad68e25b13cae70a

Christmas is a loving time of giving, but it also produces a lot of waste. Did you know that a lot of wrapping paper can be recycled? If it isn’t metallic, glossy, or filled with sparkles, it can most likely go in your paper recycling bin. You can also recycle many parts of your toy packaging, clothing tags, and more!

Here are a few more tips to help make your Christmas a little bit greener:

  • This year we used a lot of gift bags to wrap as they can be used year after year. Next year, I’m going to try wrapping with cloth (tea towels?).
  • Flatten and save your tissue paper to be used again and again.
  • Recycle your Christmas tree. Many districts will let you leave it our with your organics collection, or take it to a tree chipper!

Hope you have a happy holiday! I’m heading back to my family so we can go play outside!
